36 Weeks Pregnant | Nearly There

Baby is roughly the size of a papaya, and the next appointment will likely be weekly from here.
What is happening this week
Your baby is around 47cm and about 2.6 kilograms, gaining roughly 30 grams a day. The skull stays deliberately soft and the bones unfused, ready for birth.
Most of the vernix and lanugo has been shed and swallowed, which becomes their first nappy.
How you might be feeling
Thirty-six weeks often brings the baby dropping lower into the pelvis. Breathing gets easier; walking gets considerably harder, and the pressure is unmistakable.
Appointments usually shift to weekly around now, which makes the end feel closer and somehow further away at once.
Worth writing down
Write down what you are afraid of. Not the tidy version — the real one. It is the page people most often say they are glad they wrote, because it is the one they least expected to want.
Our Pregnancy Journal — Made With Love has a page for every week to forty. It pairs with Your First Years for afterwards, or take both together. Buying for someone else? The Pregnancy to Baby Keepsake Gift Set covers the whole journey.
